on your bike
On Your Bike is a campaign that we have developed through Let's Get Moving Cambridgeshire to try to encourage and support people to get into cycling; whether for active travel to and from work or school, or for recreation.
Cycling is a great form of physical activity which is suitable for all ages and abilities. It's easy on the joints, great for improving cardiovascular fitness and developing muscle strength!
We are working with various local partners and volunteers to create more opportunities to take part in cycling. This includes training new ride leaders, helping to promote local ride leader led rides, and delivering a number of adult cycling proficiency sessions to help those that need it.
Where can I find rides in my area?
If you are looking for opportunities to get out on your bike then organised cycle rides are a great option! British Cycling Let's Ride programme offers something for everyone; from fully qualified instructor led Guided Rides, to women only Breeze Rides, to local community group rides on the Ride Social platform!

Cycle September is coming to Cambridge
from 1-30 September 2019!
Cycle September is completely free for everyone who lives or works in Greater Cambridge. Everyone is invited to join in; it doesn’t matter if you ride every day or if you haven’t been on a bike in years. It’s all about giving it a go.
It only takes a minute to register at www.lovetoride.net/cambridgeshire
Workplaces with the highest percentage of staff riding a bike in September will win their category – and each cyclist will be eligible for prizes for riding and encouraging others.
If you haven’t cycled for years, don’t worry! You only have to ride a bike for just 10 minutes or more for your participation to count towards our team’s score, and you can ride anywhere, anytime during the Challenge.
If you already ride – you already know how enjoyable riding is and how good it makes you feel. So here’s your chance to get your workmates to experience how easy and enjoyable riding can be.
To enter the draw, you just need to register on the Love to Ride website and enter your rides manually or by linking to a cycling app. The Love to Ride website helps members to set themselves goals, track their mileage, earn badges, share photos and encourage others to ride, as well as allowing workplaces to incentivise their staff to cycle to work.
